Originally from East Anglia, Eliza has spent the last few years living in London, studying violin at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Ofer Falk. Having previously studied violin with Ruth Hahn and piano with Gareth Owen, she is an experienced performer in classical, folk and pop music, enjoying a varied freelance career. This is balanced with a passion for promoting music in education, with a particular interest in the effect of music on mental health and wellbeing.

As a chamber musician, Eliza is currently playing with a piano trio; ‘Trio Albizia’, having recently received coaching from renowned musicians including members of the Endellion Quartet, Caroline Palmer and Adrian Brendel. She has previously taken part in masterclasses with violinist Detlef Hahn, and returned twice to the Musique Cordiale Chamber Music course with the Chilingirian Quartet. She also performs both solo and within ensembles for weddings and function events, and plays with strings group ‘ClassyCool’, who are frequent street performers in Covent Garden. Eliza plays regularly in Brixton Chamber Orchestra, with whom she did two tours of shows in estates around South London in 2022.

Eliza has taught both piano and violin privately for two years, having received guidance through the Benedetti Foundation’s Ambassador programme (2020-2022), where she has learnt from attending workshops led by a dynamic group of teachers and educators including Rachel Cooper, Lucy Drever and Elena Urioste. In the last year, she has worked with The Happy Music Project, a non-profit organisation set up to provide live music and music education aiming to uplift and empower people during their recovery from mental health issues, and has delivered musical workshops to classes of both primary school and secondary school students partnered with The Pimlott Foundation in Essex, with a focus on composition and improvisation. She is excited to be joining the team at Beethoven Music School as a teacher of violin and piano.
